Pakistan cricket captain Inzamamul Haq was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his outstanding performance in the field of Sports. Weightlifter Shujauddin Malik, who won Pakistan first Gold medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Games at Melbourne, was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
Likewise, Farman Ahmad was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his outstanding services in the field of Sports (Karate).
The trio were among the recipients of 182 Pakistan Civil Awards conferred by President General Pervez Musharraf on August 14, 2005.
